Sign Planning

Have you ever been cycling in an unfamiliar area. Ride up to an intersection and had to make a decision on which way to go and had no signs or any other information to guide you. We think that anyone traveling on trails has had this happen to them in either remote settings or in downtown urban settings. We believe the signs are one of the most important components to having a safe and enjoyable trip. We believe that we have all been in situations where there are to many signs, of all shapes and sizes with no apparent thought put into there placement. This is an often over looked component to trail development but a very important one.

Sign plans for trail systems should cover all of the basics; trailhead regulatory, directional / way finding and interpretive to enhance the users experience.
